Their A Head Full of Dreams Tour will kick off at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on December 6, heading to Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on December 9 and Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on December 13.
But Perth and Adelaide will miss out on one of the big concerts of the summer.
It is believed Beyonce and Drake are also eyeing outdoor venues for their Australian tours later this year.
Coldplay returned to the big concert stage in South America last month after a two-year absence, deciding not to tour in support of 2014’s Ghost Stories to head back into the studio to make A Head Full Of Dreams which has already sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide.
The British supergroup last performed in Australia for the Max Sessions and at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney when they were joined on stage by Kylie Minogue.
